How the Dawn Raider strategy works

Dawn Raider starts each session with two numbers, the high and the low of the day before. Those two levels act as the walls of the room, and the robot does nothing while price stays between them.

When a candle closes outside one of the walls, the Andean Oscillator decides whether the move deserves attention. That indicator separates bullish pressure from bearish pressure and compares them, so the robot ignores a breakout that happens while both sides look weak. Therefore the robot trades the openings that carry real participation and lets the quiet ones pass.
